It also made me pause to think about just WHY we love these critters so much. So, I asked our Dr. Foster & Smith Facebook family why they loved their pets, and it was such a wonderful response I wanted to share! Reading all this just makes me happy.

Emotional Support Animal

A service animal means several dogs that are independently qualified to do work or perform tasks for the advantage of a creature with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. Tasks performed can include, among other things, pull a wheelchair or retrieve drop items.

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) is an animal that can provide emotional and therapeutic benefit to those suffering with an emotional disability, anxiety or psychiatric disability. Most often an emotional support animal is a dog but we have seen other animals like pigs also registered.”

In order to benefit from the centralized law protection under the United States, a person must have a note from a approved mental health counselor or doctor stating the person has the disability and the animal provides emotional support benefit the person with the disability. The animal doesn’t need specific working abilities to become and emotional support animal.”

Ever since pet came to my life, I no longer fear to get out of bed due to my apprehension and depression. Instead, I cannot wait to get up and take my puppy for a walk. He brings me joy and happiness and my apprehension is significantly reduced.

Here is some settlement of spending time with your emotional support animal during the holidays:

1. You will in no way be alone. You will have a loyal friend and you won’t feel rejected by family members or having to “force” yourself to spend too much time with them just because you don’t want to be alone.

2. He or she will provide you with entertainment and you will not spend so much time watching TV which is really not the best way when you are struggling with anxiety and depression.

3. He will make you spend more time in the open and exercise. Exercise is key not just for healthy weight, but it releases  and serotonin that helps regulate your mood.

4. He or she will challenge you to learn new things and your life will have a whole new meaning.

5. My favorite – he or she will be a source of unconditional love.

Free Emotional Support Animal Letter

Having an animal travel companion may alleviate symptoms of apprehension and despair associated with PDSC.  Many people say that having a connection with pet decrease levels of stress, promote an active lifestyle and increases engagement in physical activity, and provide a sense of comfort and close companionship. You may also be more likely to increase social interactions with other pet owners at parks or beaches because you share comparable interests.

Although more technical research is needed to evaluate the benefit of emotional support animals on PDSC, many people report a decrease in stress from having a fuzzy companion. Some researchers worry that individuals who have an emotional support animal may be inhibited from seeking professional help. However, having a restorative animal can serve as a bridge to getting help and becoming engaged in their recovery.

In some states, the description of an emotional support animal allows the handler to bring a dog or cat to places in which they would be otherwise excluded. For example, some housing or apartment complexes may allow the tenant to own a pet if it is recommended by a doctor. The dog owner may also be able to fly on a plane if permitted by the airline. To get special consideration, the dog owner needs to show a letter of commendation and qualifications from the mental health provider.

Taking care of a pet is a huge conscientiousness and for some people it is optional to wait until their symptoms improve to own a pet.  Additionally, it is strongly recommended for the safety and well-being of the public that the pet take delivery of formal training and qualifications to become a therapy dog.

Comfort Zone With Emotional Support Animal

It’s already proven that people find something incredibly comforting about coming home after a long day at work and being greeted with their lovable Pet. Spent time with a pet is the best way to make boring day to awesome one. Some professional did some experience with mentally upset people. When those people were presented with stressful tasks in four different situations - lonely, with their wives, with their lovable pet, or with both their spouse and their pet -- they experienced the minimum stress response and the fastest recovery in the situation where they were only with their pet.

Although a pet can be a powerful form of stress relief for many people, certain individuals might do best to stick with the stuffed variety. For these people, taking on the added responsibilities of a pet may prove too much for them to handle and simply exacerbate their anxiety. It's important to always assess one's personal situation before rushing off to the pet store because, unfortunately, pets and stress relief don't always go hand in hand.

Getting out and spending time with animal is one of the best ways to enjoy our lives and reduce the stress of daily living. Pdscenter.com can help make traveling with your pet easier and traveling with you makes them a lot by providing Valid ESA Evaluation Letter.
